Neuropathy
What is Neuropathy?
Neuropathy affects the nerves, causing pain, numbness, and weakness in various parts of the body. Studies show it is typically caused by damage or dysfunction of the peripheral nerves, responsible for carrying signals between the brain and the rest of the body. Neuropathy can affect different types of nerves, including sensory, motor, and autonomic nerves, leading to a wide range of symptoms that can vary in severity. Common neuropathy symptoms may include tingling, burning, or shooting pain in the affected area and numbness or loss of sensation. Muscle weakness and muscle cramps may also be present. In some cases, neuropathy can lead to difficulty with movement and coordination. In addition, autonomic neuropathy can cause problems with digestion, blood pressure, and other bodily functions. Several factors, including diabetes, alcoholism, infections, and certain medications, can cause neuropathy. It can also be inherited or idiopathic, meaning the cause is unknown.
Bliss Body uses licensed eBodyRenew treatments known as Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation or NMES to send electrical impulses to nerves, which causes muscles to contract. Electrical stimulation can increase strength and range of motion and offset the effects of disuse; This is highly effective for patients dealing with neuropathy and other Neuro-Macular issues.
It is important to note that using NMES is not recommended for everyone.
Individuals who are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implantable device or have certain medical conditions should avoid using NMES without first consulting with a healthcare provider.
